Former New York City Police Department Commissioner Ray Kelly cautioned on Sunday that New York City's quality of life "has really deteriorated." And, Illegal Immigrant crime is a major reason. Venezuela's notorious Tren de Aragua gang and El Salvador's feared MS-13 – which former F.B.I. Assistant Director Chris Swecker calls "prison-spawned gangs" – are threatening to take over America's cities. They're the "most dangerous gangs on the planet," he warns. But Joe Biden and th Democrats still deny its a problem.
A new poll conducted across Texas has found that a majority of Hispanic Voters in the state support constructing a Border Ball, as the nation continues to see an increase in violent crimes and record numbers of illegal immigrants flooding across the Southern Border. And because Hispanic voters have long been viewed as a crucial voting bloc for Texas Democrats, the shift away from the Democrat Party and toward Republican policies on the border issue is raising major concerns for Texas Democrats.
“The morale and motivation to go out and work has been destroyed – and will take a generation of agents before it ever begins to return,” said one of the five Border Patrol Agents who spoke with the Washington Examiner, expressing skepticism that a Senate Impeachment Trial, even a conviction, will have a significant impact on the department’s roughly 19,000 Border Patrol Agents nationwide. Having been dragged through the mud since Mayorkas was confirmed in February 2021, one Texas agent texted, “I want to see him GONE!”
The CBDC Anti-Surveillance State Act would prohibit the Federal Reserve from issuing a CBDC directly to anyone, ensuring the Federal Reserve can’t mobilize itself into a retail bank. It would also bar the Federal Reserve from issuing a CBDC indirectly to individuals through financial institutions or other third parties, as well as prevent the Federal Reserve from using a CBDC as a tool to implement monetary policy and control the economy.
Governor Greg Abbott today announced three JET grants totaling more than $713,000 were awarded to three schools in the Temple area by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). Donald Trump didn’t need the Old Guard – and by “old” I don’t mean age – and they resented him for it. It was stupid, as most desperate power grabs are. Trump wasn’t going to throw them out, he needed help since he’d never been in politics before. But just the concept of him being in office was so offensive to the “pinky-out, tea sipping crowd” that they passed on the prospect of achieving more of what they’d spent their adult lives professing they’d done. What the hell are we doing?
On January 26th, President Joe Biden inexplicably announced an indefinite ban on pending LNG (Liquified Natural Gas) Export Projects. It will cost our communities along the Gulf and across Texas countless jobs – and lead to so much unnecessary uncertainty. We are talking about jobs. We're talking about American energy, about clean energy. We are talking about the future of the greatest Nation the world has ever known – and the fact that our allies don't have to rely on Russia for their energy if it comes from the United States.
“With more than 513,000 State Criminal Offenses – including murder, sexual assault & robbery – many of these criminal aliens remain in our jails for weeks or months, unable to secure bond due to their immigration status. By providing Federal Funds to offset the costs on State & Local Governments, including County Jails, we'd uphold our commitment to public safety while easing the strain," said Chambers County Sheriff Brian Hawthorne, who serves as Legislative Chair for the Texas Sheriffs’ Association which is backing Gonzales's effort.
Big news in the world of Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) the past few weeks: JP Morgan Chase, BlackRock & State Street Global Investors have backed away from a multi-national alliance intended to fight "climate change." That's welcome news for taxpayers, as many of these initiatives advocate for bad policies – like higher taxes and more regulatory red tape. Americans have become increasingly skeptical of politicians who place excessive emphasis on "the environment," and use them as pawns in their culture wars.
One of the most crucial rights granted in the U.S. Constitution is a state’s ability to secure its own border. James Madison, the “Father of the Constitution,” emphasized that Article I, Section 10, Clause 3 would allow Virginia’s state militia “to be called forth to suppress smugglers” who had endangered their state. Today, Texas faces a similar but starker threat than Virginia’s smugglers – Mexican drug cartels that operate as paramilitary forces on our border.
Sen. Cruz authored and introduced a resolution cosponsored by Sen. Cornyn highlighting that Texas farmers are experiencing acute water shortages and supporting diplomacy to ensure that Mexico fulfills its treaty obligations to provide annual deliveries of water. In October, Sen. Cruz secured a vote in the Senate for a related amendment he authored, requiring the Secretary of State to utilize the full range of American diplomacy to secure Mexican compliance with its treaty obligations.
Republican-controlled states are continuing to achieve exciting policy wins, including more than two-dozen state income tax cuts since 2020. Texas, Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina have led the way. Three of those states have no income tax, Georgia and South Carolina recently cut their income taxes, and North Carolina has led the long-term move to flatten and reduce income taxes, now ratcheting down to a 2.49% rate.
It only takes one trip to the mailbox – or these days to your Inbox or Social Media & Text Streams – to be overwhelmed by political candidates trying to out-conservative each other. What was once a constant stream of ideas, is now essentially cow-nuggets thrown up against the wall to see what sticks. The mail onslaught can sometimes tell you which candidate's taken the most out-of-district money – and in the recent House Dist. 2 Special Election, conservative Jill Dutton overcame it by focusing on her opponent's contributors.
“These challenges to our Postal System are not only found in Texas, but are affecting Americans nationwide," said Cong. Pete Sessions, Chairman of the House Subcommittee on Government Operations, after leading a bi-partisan Congressional Briefing with U.S. Postal Service Officials in Houston to confront the persistent mail delivery disruptions & delays there – and other areas of Texas. Their goal is to find the root causes that are severely impacting both Residential & Commercial Deliveries.
“This grant to Northeast Texas Community College will help equip hardworking Texans with the skills they need to succeed in critical industries like manufacturing, and ensure Texas has the talent needed to thrive as our economy continues to lead the nation,” said Gov. Greg Abbott, announcing a Skills Development Fund Grant Award provided by the Texas Workforce Commission. The grant will help train more than 85 new & current workers in robotics, logic & motor controllers, and other relevant industry skills.
A school official in the Denton Independent School District located just north of Dallas used her government email to circulate voting guidelines for her fellow school employees, directly violating the Texas Election Code’s prohibition against use of “state or local funds or other resources to electioneer for or against any candidate, measure or political party.” Attorney General Ken Paxton has sued Denton ISD for illegal electioneering & using taxpayer-funded resources to stump for specific candidates.
"Living in the Southwest, we're surrounded by the impacts of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo everyday," said Kathryn Siefker, Curator at the Bullock Museum. "This exhibition is an opportunity to better understand the historical events that shaped the borderlands – and the Treaty's impact on the people of the region." The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo was the result of some 40 years of borderlands tension involving Mexico, Spain, Tribal Nations, Texas, and the United States.
