“Laredo is the nation’s busiest port of entry, and recent changes to the Presidential Permitting Process will ensure that proposed construction projects at the World Trade Bridge, Colombia Solidarity Bridge, and other bridges along the U.S.-Mexico Border avoid unnecessary construction delays. I emphasize that the Administration needs to act expeditiously in implementing this provision to expand our ports of entry,” said South Texas Cong. Henry Cuellar.
Governor Greg Abbott held meetings with economic development partners and business leaders in Mumbai, India, discussing issues and industries critical to Texas and India. Joined by Secretary of State Jane Nelson, Adriana Cruz, Arun Agarwal, and Aaron Demerson, along with members of the Texas delegation, this is the first stop in the economic development mission led by the Governor.
As Chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee on Counter-Terrorism, Law Enforcement & Intelligence, I led a hearing to examine transnational repression and authoritarian regimes like the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) or Iran going beyond their borders to harass or silence citizens who defend human rights and advocate for free speech. The United States must uphold the bastion for every person to freely express their views – without fear of persecution from foreign actors.

Florida Sen. Marco Rubio has a "Winning Pro-Life Strategy" plan. "First, develop and fight for a compassionate, pro-family agenda that counters caricatures of our beliefs and makes life easier for mothers and their children. Second, put Democrats on the defensive about their extreme support for abortion. Third, tell the truth about abortion – the taking of innocent life – and advocate for limits to the practice." And there's more...
At last week's House Homeland Security Committee impeachment hearing of Secretary Mayorkas, I spoke with two mothers grieving the loss of their daughters due to Sect. Mayorkas' dereliction of duty. As they testified to the committee, they hold him – and his failed border policies – personally accountable for their family's irreparable loss. So do I. He took an oath to Defend & Protect the Constitution and the American people – and has utterly failed to do so.
“Texas is America’s – and the world’s – premier economic destination because of our dedication to cultivating a business-friendly environment. And, there's great potential for us to expand industry & trade partnerships with India," said Gov. Greg Abbott, noting that India is 9th among all nations for the number of Foreign Investment Projects in Texas. In the last decade, companies from India have invested $1.4 billion through 59 projects in Texas, creating more than 10,300 jobs.
"2023 was an incredibly solid year for oil and gas job growth, despite global economic uncertainties – and the year finished with a continued upward push on job expansion," said Todd Staples, president of the Texas Oil & Gas Association. "These jobs, along with the associated activity in local communities that generate tremendous growth opportunities, benefit every part of Texas and continue to be the cornerstone of Texas' economy."
Now that Gov. DeSantis has dropped out of the race, I have a message for all my fellow DeSantis supporters about how to move forward after a bruising primary. Don’t confuse being butt-hurt over some 3rd-tier slanders, or the disappointment that comes with losing when you think you should’ve won, with occupying the Moral High Ground. You’re not a better person if your actions help Joe Biden win. This is real. It's life and death.
Even Hispanic Voters now say Donald Trump is closer to their views on immigration than is Joe Biden. As America's borders have been left open during the first three years of his administration, our nation's experienced a crisis that matches the population of Chicago or Houston. Not good! So now it seems that Democrats should have taken a Democrats’ colossal blunder more seriously from the beginning. Could it hand Donald Trump a victory? It's my sad duty to inform you – yes, this is quite possible.
Governor Greg Abbott today celebrated the strength and resilience of the Texas economy following the release of December's employment data showing Texas continues to outpace the nation in Annual Job Growth. Texas also again set new historic highs for total jobs, the number of Texans working, and the size of the Texas labor force. December marks 34 months of uninterrupted job growth in Texas.
U.S. Congressman Henry Cuellar joined a Washington Post event, moderated by Washington Post reporter Leigh Ann Caldwell, to discuss the urgent need for border security measures. During the discussion, Cuellar emphasized the need to address the pull factors that are contributing to the record number of encounters at the U.S. Southern Border
In December, the state’s seasonally adjusted job count reached 14,103,300 jobs, an increase of 19,100 over the month—marking 27 consecutive months of new series employment highs. Texas' employment growth rate continued to outpace the nation by a full percentage point, with 2.7 percent annual growth in the state from December 2022 to December 2023, compared to the nation’s 1.7 percent.
It used to be – 50 years or so ago – that a right-wing paranoia gripped our nation, but today its a hysterical left-wing style of inventing scandals and manipulating public perceptions that exists. In 2016 President Donald Trump was declared an "existential threat to our democracy." Amid this derangement syndrome, any means to stop him were justified: Russian collusion, Hunter's laptop disinformation. Now "the left" seeks to remove the leading presidential candidate from State Ballots, and indict him in court.
Since the advent of the Iowa Caucuses in 1972, and the South Carolina Primary in 1980 – not to mention the New Hampshire Primary which dates back to 1916 – the “first in the nation” political contests have been able to consistently end up selecting who the nominee for President will eventually be. Particularly for Republicans. In fact, you cannot find a Republican nominee for president in modern history that didn't win in either Iowa or New Hampshire.
Coverage will be automatically reinstated for individuals who are not current Medicaid or CHIP recipients, but who were enrolled in Medicaid or CHIP in Texas while pregnant and are still within their 12-month postpartum period, as long as they are still residents of Texas. Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich appeared on Fox News Monday night as Iowa voters caucused and delivered a decisive victory for Donald Trump. Gingrich predicted that Trump would not only win the nomination, but would win the White House in November with a minimum of 29 states. "Trump is not a candidate. Trump is the leader of a nationwide movement to take back power from the Establishment." said Newt.
“The Biden administration made an immediate decision to dismantle terrorism sanctions against the Houthis and their leaders. That decision was reckless, driven by ideology and partisanship, and ignored the threat that these Iran-controlled terrorists pose to the national security of the United States.
