In the spirit of the holidays, I wanted to bring attention to certain efforts in Texas and the Coastal Bend that benefit many families during the holiday season. Toys-for-Tots is a nationwide campaign with strong Texas roots and participation in the Corpus Christi & Port Aransas areas. The initiative began in 1947 when Marine Major Bill Hendricks collected and donated 5,000 toys to children in their city.
As 52% of Registered Voters say they “Strongly Disapprove” of Mr. Biden’s performance in office, just 18.2% “approve.” And if that isn't enough to worry Democrats, those identifying as "Independents" – who often provide the winning margin in elections – say they'd support a GOP candidate over a Democrat 50%-to-32% in the Generic Congressional Ballot question, their largest lead since 1981.
"Samsung's new semiconductor manufacturing facility in Taylor will bring countless opportunities for hardworking Texans and their families, and will play a major role in our state's continued exceptionalism in the industry. I look forward to expanding our partnership to keep the Lone Star State a leader in advanced technology, and a dynamic economic powerhouse," said Gov. Abbott.
While signs are emerging that a local Houston union may soon call for a strike against Kroger grocery stores just as American's rush to purchase their Thanksgiving dinner, some financial disclosure forms on the union's leadership team indicate a priority of increasing their own salaries – while neglecting to negotiate an agreement to benefit all of the union's members.
"OSHA is trying to deliver on President Biden's empty threat that 'if these governors won't help us beat the pandemic, I'll use my power as President to get them out of the way,'" said Texas Governor Gregg Abbott earlier today, filing a petition in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit to challenge the COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate imposed by President Biden's Occupational Safety & Health Administration.
Every time there are bad new numbers on inflation, remember back to President Biden’s angry, defensive assertion on July 19th: “There’s nobody suggesting there’s unchecked inflation on the way.” Well, the Labor Dept. announced this morning that inflation is up 6.2% compared to a year ago, confirming why polls show the vast majority of Americans are concerned it. Inflation is a tax that affects everyone.
After spending the first 24 hours after the Nov. 2nd Election pretending that Virginia Republicans didn’t elect a black woman as Lt. Governor – the second-highest office in Virginia – mainstream media hacks went full-metal stupid trying to diminish the significance of it. Since they can’t even handle winning the presidency gracefully, it was obvious things would get rough and ugly when they lost again.
“Out of what fund(s) will the payments to aliens be paid? For how many aliens who are outside the United States is the Department considering payments? For how many aliens inside the United States is the Department considering payments pursuant to the litigation described above?” asked Republican lawmakers in a letter to President Joe Biden, demanding answers on the now-reported potential massive payments to be made to illegal immigrants.
The off-year Virginia Elections have a nearly perfect record as the first "voter backlash" tool to guage voter's sentiments against the party in power. If Tuesday's election results – from Virginia to Seattle, in Minneapolis, and from San Antonio to Buffalo, N.Y are any indication, there may be some bigger and more massive sweeping the country for Republicans to tap into, and which Democrats will surely fear.
After some 1.7 million Illegal Immigrant Apprehensions were carried out by U.S. Customs & Border Patrol during Fiscal Year 2021, "We (Texans) have to step up – We have to secure our border while the Federal Government twiddles its thumbs," said Gov. Greg Abbott, announcing his latest efforts to tighten Border Security amid media reports of yet another caravan of migrants moving north through Mexico.
As arrests by the Border Patrol have now soared to the highest levels ever recorded, Biden’s proposals for immigration overhaul have stalled in Congress, leading immigrant advocates who backed his candidacy to increasingly sour on his presidency – with several staging a virtual walkout last weekend during a meeting with White House policy advisers.
Along with ending worksite arrests, President Biden's Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said immigration authorities should immediately start using “prosecutorial discretion” to encourage workers to speak up about ending workplace exploitation and help prevent employers from using retaliatory threats of deportation. Mayorkas's 3-page memo directs U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement, Customs & Border Protection Agency, and Citizenship & Immigration Services to draw up plans.
"The Biden Administration's open border policies have led to complete chaos at the southern border, and pose a threat to the safety of Texans and all Americans. Texas has stepped up to keep our communities safe and mitigate this crisis ourselves, and our efforts have been made stronger by the support and assistance of governors from across the nation," said Gov. Greg Abbott, standing with nine other state governors in Mission, Texas to discuss the ongoing Border Crisis.
“Many (of the illegal) Haitian migrants camped in a small Texas border town are being released in the United States, two U.S. Officials said, undercutting the Biden Administration’s public statements that the 1,000s in the well-known camp faced expulsion,” reported the Associated Press. “Many have been released with notices to appear at an immigration office within 60 days, which requires less processing time from Border Patrol agents,” said the AP.
"As chief executives of our states, we request a meeting with you at The White House to bring an end to the national security crisis created by eight months of unenforced borders," read the letter to President Biden from the Governors of 26 states, “respectfully requesting a meeting as soon as your schedule allows within 15 days.” The crisis led a Democrat Border Mayor to ask Mr. Biden earlier this year, "Whose side are you on?"
"I have determined that the disaster caused from individuals unlawfully crossing the Texas-Mexico Border is of such severity that Supplementary Federal Assistance is necessary to lessen the threat of disaster, save lives, and protect property, public health and safety," said Gov. Abbott, requesting an Emergency Declaration from President Biden as the crisis at the border escalated, including the dire situation in Val Verde County.
"In the past month, we've witnessed President Biden & his top officials preside over the worst Foreign Policy Catastrophe in a generation. Americans across the nation are horrified, our servicemen and women are angry, disillusioned & frustrated, our allies are dispirited and our enemies across the globe emboldened – which makes the world more dangerous for America today," said Sen. Ted Cruz, who sent some strong messages to the Biden Administration this week.
According to a leaked audio obtained by Fox News through a Border Patrol source, President Biden's Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas recently claimed the Biden Administration is "going to lose" the border crisis if the "unsustainable" numbers of migrants flooding across the border continue. The 208,887 illegal immigrants encountered in August are the second consecutive month with over 200,000 encounters – figures not seen in 21 years.
Not surprisingly, the Biden Administration is yet again attempting contrive some non-existent authority out of an extravagant & distorted construction of Federal Statute. Has Congress ever given the presidency or a Federal Agency the precise, unambiguous authority to take such action? In a word, no. But while the president and his administration know they're in the wrong – we are sure to see more instances of overreach.
A Sept. 1st headline read: “15 Million COVID Vaccines Thrown Away in U.S. Since March.” So while President Biden's constantly boasted of his work to distribute COVID-19 Vaccines around the country, in six months we've thrown 15 million doses in the trash. A more recent headline from Axios read: “U.S. Govt's Lost Contact with 1,000s of Migrant Children Released from Custody” – and now he wants voters to trust him with another $3.5 trillion in taxpayer dollars to "Remake America"?
